A dominant performance leads to 9 goal win!

Yes, you read that right—9-0! Another incredible team performance from the Henley Ladies 2s on home turf, this time against Leighton Buzzard.
The first goal came early on, courtesy of Chloe Lyons. She danced past three defenders, entered the top of the D, and struck a clean shot that sailed past the keeper's head into the net. It was a beauty! The second goal came when powerhouse midfielder Sophie Miller, made a brilliant run down the right side of the D and set up Hayley Munt just in front of the goal. One quick touch and she slotted it past the keeper’s feet.

Henley kept up the pressure in the Leighton Buzzard D, nearly adding more to the scoreline. At one point, a goal was disallowed and a penalty stroke was left unconverted - thankfully both turned out not to be required. But, more goals were to come and when Henley were awarded another short corner, Kat Green stepped up and unleashed one of her signature disguise balls powered onto the backboard - a defenders foot helping with the disguise!

Leighton Buzzard had a short spell where they strung together some nice passes, but the backline stayed solid and Henley quickly regained control, finding themselves back in the opposition's half. It was Lyons who restarted the scoring when the ball was laid off to her from Sophy Rogers, and her first time strike into the far corner put Henley at 3-0. Having secured another short corner, Green stepped up from the back once again. The ball was slipped right and then back to her near the P spot, from where she slotted it home.

The floodgates had somewhat opened and shortly after, Tilly Carter also got herself on the scoresheet after a good move down the right, saw her finishing it off at the far post. Short corner time came again - this time Green sent the ball to the far post and Lily Baker managed to get her stick to it, deflecting it into the back of the net. The team were not done however and Lyons sealed her hat trick with a rebound goal off yet another short corner. Just short of double figures, Pippi Heath scored Henley’s 9th and final goal with a stunning strike from the top of the D. Henley are firmly on track with their ambition of wanting to win the league - the charge continues!
