The idea extended to the U6s and in the end over 25 children paired up with a mum or dad for the morning's session. For many of the adults this was their first time playing hockey so after a warm-up (with extra stretches for the grown-ups!), coach Kat asked the children to show the adults how to properly hold the hockey stick and teach them how to do push passes. The session also saw the children race their adult in a hockey-based circuit and a children vs parent shoot-out, which ended in a draw! Coach Kat adds: "Thank you to all the parents for indulging me in the idea and buying into the intention to give the children the opportunity to show a parent what they have been learning all season. Hopefully it was an enjoyable morning for everyone and, for many, a nice way to spend Mother's Day.
